In vg condition, Measures approx 15 x 16 inches. Montgomery and West Point Rail Road. Multiple remnants of 5/16 punches. HOWEVER, the RN-T4 and RN-P5 Imprinted Revenue Stamp more than makes up for the condition! Very RARE to have two imprinted revenue stamps on the same document!!! # 397 issued in 1867. Steam locomotive rolling through the countryside vignette. All 20 coupons attached. Montgomery and West Point Railroad early 19th-century railroad in Alabama and Georgia played an important role during the American Civil War as a supply and transportation route for the Confederate Army. Became target of large raid by Union cavalry in the summer of 1864, called Wilson’s Raid. Railroads supplied large military forces that were needed to conquer southern part of the United States. Railroad needed that would link Georgia with the Tennessee and Ohio areas which this railroad helped to do.
