Rare stock certificate signed by F. Woolworth as President of the little-known Woolworth Building Safe Deposit Company, incorporated in January 1914 just days before this stock certificate was issued. After finishing construction on the historic Woolworth Building in Manhattan, then the tallest building in the world, Frank W. Woolworth started this company to rent safe deposit boxes in the building. Private shares were limited to 925, making it one of the rarer stock certificates signed by Woolworth. Document transferring 10 shares to a Lathrop Haynes is dated 28 January 1914, countersigned by treasurer Hubert Parson. Measures 12.25” x 8.5”.
