Here’s an item you don’t see everyday. This two part stock certificate is from The Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company belonging to Samuel Colt. This certificate is what Colt would have taken from his personal company ledger and filled out when a sale of Colt’s Capital Stock took place. He would have then signed the certificate on the bottom right. This set would have been in a ledger with three sets to a page. For some reason this one was about to be put to use but was never filled out. You usually only see the top portion of the certificate but this set also contains the second part from the bottom. These certificates are virtually non-existent. Only one other top portion is currently for sale online. No other copies could be located. The certificates are unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic and from The Colt Company. Chances of coming across another two piece set is extremely low. Both of these are from The Hartford plant where Samuel Colt produced his guns and rifles. They are both stamped with Hartford and a spot for the date beginning with 18. This is the first set of these we have seen in a very long time. A very nice collectible from The Colt’s Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company from the 1800’s.
