He was at the Siege of Boston, the Battle of Long Island, the Battle for Manhattan, New York and Valley Forge. In 1779 he was appointed Barrack Master at the fortress of West Point, and served as Commissary General for Patterson’s Brigade of Continental troops. After the war he served as Surveyor General and Registrar of Deeds of York County, Massachusetts [now Maine], Justice of the Peace and County Treasurer…… Over forty five years in business.
