Issued to Enoch Louis Lowe, who was–believe it or not–the 29th Governor of Maryland from 1851 through 1854. Lowe was a staunch supporter of the Confederate States of America, and he moved to Richmond, Virginia during the war. After the war he moved to Brooklyn, New York to work as an attorney at a prestigious law firm, according to Wikipedia. Governor Lowe is mentioned in the song Maryland. Which later became the state anthem. Ample information regarding Governor Lowe can be found online, and we encourage you to do additional research. As for the bond, the condition is VG to Fine. There are approximately 10 pinholes or internal tears, mostly due to the three vertical and two horizontal folds. Please see the photos provided for a better idea regarding condition.
