This is an early stock certificate from the’Indianapolis & Vincennes Railroad Company. It was issued in 1868 to Ambrose E. Burnside, the Union Civil War General and US Senator. It is signed by Burnside as president on the front, and again on the reverse where it was endorsed. There is a revenue stamp on each side.
